John Wright Moore IV
JOHN WRIGHT (JW) MOORE, IV Born February 22, 1962 in Houston, Texas died there on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 45 years of age. He is survived by his father, John Wright Moore, stepmother A.M. Schaer; his mother Jeanette Fenley Moore his sister, Juliette Moore Lofft, brother in law Andrew Lofft; Sister Melissa Josephine Moore his three nephews Eric Cimrhanzel, Aidan Lofft and Liam Lofft and numerous cousins from both the Moore and Fenley families. He attended the Dominican Montessori School, St. John's School, in Houston and Texas Military Institute in San Antonio, TX. JW, IV graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in Houston in 1980; earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1985; interned with Westport Country Playhouse, served on staff at Blue Jacket Outdoor Theater, Yellow Springs, Ohio; worked in legitimate theaters in New York City; Dallas, TX and The Alley Theater in Houston; was a member of the company at Houston's Main Street Theater; and also worked in Los Angeles and Hollywood, CA. As a young man, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council and attained the rank of Life Scout. He served on the Camp Staff at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM. He was a card carrying member of Actor's Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, LU 33. He was also a voting member of the Hollywood Film Society in Los Angeles. He had recently qualified under the Entertainment Technicians Certification Program as an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician. JW was active in both the West Hollywood Democratic Club and the City of West Hollywood, CA local government. He served as a lay Lector and volunteer for the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Hollywood, CA. He was an American Red Cross Instructor with the Burbank Chapter. He considered the Los Angeles Stagehands his extended family; of which he had been a Member for most of the last fifteen years. The family is grateful for the loving care and treatment given over the course of the past twelve months by Dr. Frank Latino and the staff of Kaiser-Permanente Los Angeles, and the compassionate support of the staff of Houston Hospice in these final days. There will be a memorial service at 4 PM on Friday, December 21st at Rice University's Catholic Student Center, 1703 Bolsover, Houston, TX 77005 (713) 526-3809; and at a later date at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 6657 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028 (323) 462-6311. Graveside services will be held in the La Grange City Cemetery, La Grange, TX at 3 PM on Saturday, December 22nd under the direction of Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange, TX.
